Who we are
bkdin (“we”, “us”) provides reservation and venue-management software at bkdin.app. When you book a table through a venue’s booking page, the venue is the data controller for your booking information and bkdin processes it on their behalf. For venue accounts (restaurant owners and staff), bkdin is the controller. Contact: admin@bkdin.app.
What we collect
- Guests booking a table: name, email, phone (optional), party details, dietary notes you choose to share, and your booking history with that venue.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. Card numbers never touch our servers; we store only payment references and amounts.
- Venue accounts: name, email, role, and the data you enter to run your venue.
- Technical: hashed IP addresses for rate-limiting and abuse prevention (never raw), and aggregate link-click counts for venue marketing stats.
How we use it
To take and manage your reservation; send booking confirmations, reminders and follow-ups; process deposits and refunds; let venues run their service (floor plan, kitchen screens); and keep the platform secure. Venues may send you marketing only if you opted in when booking — every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Service providers acting under contract: Stripe (payments), Brevo (email), Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Clerk (venue sign-in), Sentry (error monitoring), and Anthropic (the optional on-page booking assistant — your chat messages are processed to answer your question and are not used to train models). We never sell personal data.
Retention
Booking records are kept by the venue as part of their business records. Operational data (rate-limit counters, chat sessions, expired holds) is automatically deleted within days. You can ask a venue to anonymise your guest profile at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data, and object to or restrict processing. For guest bookings, contact the venue (the controller) — we provide them tools to export and anonymise your data. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies only on booking pages (session continuity, holding your table while you complete checkout, sign-in for venue staff). Optional marketing pixels are loaded only after you consent on venues that have configured them.
